Lorraine’s Sherry Cake

My neighbor Lorraine made this cake for a neighborhood picnic years ago. We've been making it ever since!

Ingredients

Cake

1 package yellow cake mix
1 package instant vanilla pudding
1 tablespoon nutmeg
4 eg
3/4 cup oil
3/4 cup sherry

Blend 5 minutes at medium speed. Pour into greased and floured bundt pan, Bake at 350 for 45 minutes. Cool briefly and remove from pan.

Glaze

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 stick butter
2 tablespoons sherry
1 tablespoon water

Mix all ingredients. Bring to a boil over medium heat, and boil for 3 minutes. Pour over cake while the cake is still warm. add the glaze slowly so the cake has time to absorb it. You can use a chop stick or skewer to make small holes in the cake to help it absorb the glaze.
